Akamai Customer Guide
To ensure accuracy is as high as possible, and false positives are kept to a minimum the GeoGuard is continually updated. Updates are published to Akamai hourly.
Types of flags:
Must have flags for blocking to ensure the protection

Recommended to monitor the traffic for M&E and recommended blocking for other Fraud purposes

is_residential_proxy
Definitions
is_anonymous_vpn
This identifies blocks of IP addresses known to be currently used by VPN providers.
is_public_proxy
This flag identifies IP addresses known to be public proxies. These are used to anonymize users by hiding their real IP address.
is_tor_exit_node
This flag identifies IP addresses known to be used by the Tor Project, an anonymity network.
is_smart_dns_proxy
This flag identifies IP addresses known to be currently used by DNS Proxy providers.
is_vpn_datacenter
This flag identifies IP address ranges owned by data centers that are known to collaborate with VPN providers. Some VPN Providers change their data center IP addresses too frequently to be consistently detected by Is_anonymous_vpn alone.
is_hosting_provider
This flag identifies IP addresses owned by Datacenters & Cloud Providers.
is_residential_proxy
This identifies residential IP addresses that have been compromised and are now used by VPN providers or public proxies to route traffic through.
