Check out the David Briggs interview on the Gamble On podcast (episode 35 at 18:00) where he provides an informative and entertaining discussion covering the history of geolocation technology, the current regulatory environment and the various geolocation challenges to be tackled as more states pass legislation for iGaming and sports betting.
In the interview, David discussed the diverse geolocation needs of each state, such as Mississippi. One GeoComply customer is Pearl River Resort, the only American Indian gaming facility in Mississippi. Among other things, Pearl River wanted to:
- Offer on-property, online sports betting in a way that meets state and federal regulations
- Expand the effective footprint of their sportsbook operation without incurring a large capital expense
GeoComply made it happen. “I’ve had a lot of feedback that people have been betting from their hotel rooms, the center bar over on the other side of Silverstar with the other restaurants we had…. It makes it easy to use anywhere on the property,” says Chris Hopwood, Sportsbook Director.
